How to Apply Hair Fibers Without Making Them Look Fake

Use less product, build coverage gradually, and protect the hairline for a more natural result.

The most common mistake is using too much product at once. Start with clean, completely dry and already-styled hair. Apply a light layer to the area where scalp is visible, then stop and check the result from several angles.

At the front hairline, keep the first few millimetres lighter than the interior. A perfectly solid edge can look artificial. Gradual density usually looks more convincing.

Choose the closest shade to your roots, not necessarily the lightest areas at the ends of your hair. If you are between shades, testing two neighboring colors is usually better than forcing a poor match.

A light setting mist or ordinary hairspray can help reduce movement in wind or humidity. Avoid repeatedly touching or brushing the finished area.

Finally, take a phone photo in natural light. What looks good in a bathroom mirror should also look believable on camera.
