How to Choose the Right Hair Fiber Color

Root color, daylight and application density matter more than trying to match every strand perfectly.

Start with the hair growing closest to your scalp. Ends can be lighter from sun exposure, coloring or age, so matching them can make fibers stand out where you actually apply them.

Check your hair beside a window or outdoors in indirect daylight. Warm bathroom lighting can make browns look redder and cool LEDs can make them look flatter than they really are.

If your natural color sits between two shades, don't assume you need to cover the scalp more heavily. A lighter application of the closer shade often blends better than a dense layer of a poor match.

Hair itself is not one perfectly uniform color. Subtle variation is normal. The aim is to reduce contrast between hair and scalp, not create a painted surface.
